I want to take a moment to speak with you directly about something important, why I am running as a Republican.
This is a decision I thought about carefully, and I want you to hear it directly from me.
Over the years, my values have not changed. What has changed is the political landscape around us.
Throughout my career, in medicine, in business, and in public service, I have always believed in personal responsibility, limited and efficient government, fiscal discipline, and accountability. Those principles guided my work caring for patients, building organizations, and serving in the Delaware State Senate.
While serving in the Senate, I focused on practical reforms, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and advancing responsible spending. I was able to work closely with Republican colleagues and earn their support because we shared those priorities.
Over time, it became clear to me that the Democratic Party, both in Delaware and nationally, was moving in a direction that no longer reflected those principles. There was more emphasis on spending and bureaucracy, and less focus on accountability and practical solutions.
I didn’t change my values, the party changed.
I made the decision to become a Republican because I believe those core principles, responsibility, accountability, and limited government, are essential to restoring trust and moving our state and country forward.
This campaign is not about labels. It is about solving problems and delivering results for Delaware families.
And it is about winning.
I believe I am the only candidate in this race who can build the coalition of Republicans, independents, and common-sense Democrats needed to defeat Chris Coons in November.
I would be honored to earn your support.
Warm regards,
Mike
